Pierrette Fortin Appointed Interim Vice-President at Edmundston Campus
The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors has confirmed the appointment of Pierrette Fortin as Interim Vice-President of the Université de Moncton, Edmundston campus, for the duration of the selection process underway to replace Madeleine Dubé who is retiring at the end of the month.
Pierrette Fortin will remain Dean of Studies at the Edmundston campus, a position she has held since July 1, 2013. She was Interim Vice-President of the Edmundston campus from January to July 2018, Interim Director of the Rhéa-Larose Library from July 1, 2013 to October 2014, Assistant Dean of Studies from 2009 to 2013, Administrator of the Education and Kinesiology sector from 2009 to 2011, Head of the Humanities and Social Sciences sector from 2004 to 2007, and President of l'Association des bibliothécaires, professeures et professeurs de l'Université de Moncton (ABPPUM) – the union representing librarians and professors –, Edmundston campus from 2007 to 2009. From 1995 to 2013, she was a professor of philosophy.
Pierrette Fortin holds a PhD and a MA in philosophy from Laval University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the Université de Moncton.
