Hockey: Reds visit Aigles Bleues Tuesday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (6-8-0-1=13 points,6th position) have won their last two meetings and the team would enjoy a third win in a row Tuesday by hosting the University of New Brunswick Reds (11-3-0-1=23pts, 2nd position) at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
The task will not be easy for Marc-André Côté's troupe, which will play its last regular season game before the holiday break. The game was supposed to be played last Friday, but a mechanical break on the bus prevented the Reds from travelling to Moncton.
“It will take more work around the net and capitalize on our chances,” said coach Marc-André Côté. “We have to shoot and install players in front of the net to increase our chances.”
The assistant captain is confident that her team is capable of winning. “We were ready to play them on Friday, but we will do the same preparation on Tuesday,” said Pascale Lebeau. “This is our last game before Christmas. We want both points, and we will have to score goals and use our speed. We must have players in front of the net, shoot and get the goalkeeper to move. Our young team is learning and improving over time.”
Spectators can attend the match with proof of double vaccination against COVID-19 and a government-issued ID card. Wearing a face mask is always required in the rink unless you are drinking or eating actively.
