Janie Poitras and Rémy Anglehart are UMoncton Athletes of the Week
Janie Poitras, of Saint-André, New Brunswick, and Rémy Anglehart, of Gascon, Quebec, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from November 22 to 28 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Team captain Janie Poitras scored the winning goal in the Aigles Bleues 3-1 win in women's hockey on Sunday. She added a pass on her team’s first marker in addition to winning 3 of 6 face-offs in the game with a shot on goal. Her inspiring play led her troupe to play with intensity that resulted in the team's 36 shots. She is a first year Master of Education student.
Center Rémy Anglehart had 4 goals for the Aigles Bleus in the two men's weekend hockey games. He scored a goal on Saturday on 3 shots and added a hat trick on Friday with 4 shots and he finished +3. He was named Friday’s player of the game. He is ranked 43rd in the AUS scoring race with 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points in 14 games with 37 shots on goal. He is a second year bachelor’s in business administration-accounting student.
