Janie Poitras and Félix Robichaud are UMoncton Athletes of the Week
Janie Poitras, of Saint-André, and Félix Robichaud, of Moncton, New Brunswick, are the athletes of the week from October 25 to 31 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Team captain Janie Poitras scored four goals in the Aigles Bleues two home games in women's hockey last weekend. She scored twice on Saturday on three shots and finished with +3. She added two goals on Friday, including the equalizer late in the game, to even the score and force overtime. She directed 5 pucks at the opposing goalie. Two of the goals were achieved on the power play. She demonstrated undisputed leadership during the games. She is a first-year master of Education student.
Forward Félix Robichaud scored twice during the Aigles Bleus men's soccer games over the weekend to conclude the regular season. He scored once in each of the two games in addition to giving his all to help his team qualify for the championship tournament. He allowed the Aigles hope for a qualification until the last minute. With two draws, the team missed its goal. He is a fifth-year bachelor of education – physical-education student.
