For the second weekend in a row, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus play two road games in Nova Scotia in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action.

The Blue and Gold (1-4-1=3pts, 7th position) face the same two clubs as last weekend, but in opposite order. The Judes Vallée troop will be in Antigonish on Friday to face the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (4-2-1=9pts, 2nd position), at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Dalhousie University Tigers (3-3-0=6pts, 5th position) will receive the Aigles visit in Halifax at the same time.

Both games promise, Moncton lost 6-1 to the Tigers last Friday before exploding in the third period Saturday to double the X-Men 4-2 and score a first win of the season.

Goalkeeper Étienne Montpetit is back in the lineup after treating an injury in the first four games of the season. “With everything that has happened since the beginning of the year, we needed a big win,” said the third-year goalkeeper. “We had our first win, and we look at the positive side. We have more confidence and are moving forward. We aim to win the most games before Christmas. The X-Men have a good team, but we will continue on the wave of our last win.”

Coach Judes Vallée says his team still has room for improvement this season. Last Saturday's victory certainly gives him a foundation and the week's training sessions have focused on the details. Special units are still slow to produce. “The victory and our third period play gave us confidence and we must continue on this wave," said Vallée. “It's a good base to start our weekend games. We want to repeat our actions. We have to work on finishing our plays as well.”

Vincent Deslauriers, Olivier Desjardins and Vincent Millette are questionable starters due to injuries.
