Two strong opponents for our Aigles Bleues
With two wins in their last games, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (2-2-0=4pts, 5th position) will play two more games against major opponents in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey this weekend.
The Blue and Gold will take to the road Friday and travel to Fredericton for a duel with the University of New Brunswick Reds (3-0-0=6pts, 1st position) at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Marc-André Côté's team will host the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (3-1-0=6pts, 3rd position) at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
Both games will be played against two higher ranked teams, so a challenge awaits the young team.
“It will be one of the most difficult weekends,” said coach Marc-André Côté. “We face two of the best teams in the league. The challenge will be there, and it will be interesting. The girls will be ready. »
All players are available for the weekend. “It's a question of process to follow,” added the coach. “We must keep it for the weekend following our last two wins. We try to play on our terms and impose our way of playing. Our players are able to adapt to several game styles.”
Audrey Berthiaume is expected to be the goaltender on Friday.
Spectators are admitted to Saturday night's game. However, a face mask must be always worn properly in the arena, except when drinking or eating. Proof of dual vaccination and a government ID card will also be required before accessing the arena.
