Soccer: Aigles to visit Mounties in Sackville

The return game between the Mount Allison University Mounties and the Université de Moncton Aigles in Atlantic University Sport women's and men's soccer will be played Wednesday evening at the Sackville campus.

The women Aigles Bleues (0-6-0=0pts, 10th position) are still looking for a first win this season and the Mounties (3-3-1=10pts, 6th position) have just won their last three clashes in the women's division.

"We will work very hard to win our first game," said Blue and Gold coach Mehyar Zekaroui. “We are looking for a better result than last Friday. We didn't play well in the second half. We need to take our chances and not play defensively. It will take a good balance between offensive and defensive transitions to create attacking opportunities. »

The men Aigles Bleus (2-3-1=7pts, 8th position) scored their second win of the season on Friday, 4-0 against the Mounties (0-7-0=0pts, 10th position), that are looking for a first victory in the men's division.

"We need to remain focused for the whole game," added coach Younes Bouida of the Aigles Bleus. "It will not be an easy game, and we will have to enter it well prepared. Our defense needs to tighten up and ensure the right transitions to the attackers. We don't want to be surprised.”

The women's game begins at 5 p.m. and the men's at 7:15 p.m. The games may be viewed on AUSTV.ca.
