Leila Karam and Pascal Sonier are Université de Moncton Athletes of the Week

Leila Karam, of Bromont, Quebec and Pascal Sonier, of North Tetagouche, New Brunswick are the athletes of the week for September 6 to 12 as chosen by the Université de Moncton athletic department, Moncton campus.

Leila Karam scored her first goal early in the game in the Aigles Bleus 4-1 loss to the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers, Sunday in Atlantic University Sport women’s soccer action. The rookie was an inspiration for her teammates, passing the ball numerous times in dangerous zones. The offensive player demonstrated a combative spirit all through the game. She supported the defensive efforts and midfield players and showed she will be an immediate impact player. She is a first-year kinesiology student.

Rookie Pascal Sonier was an important defensive player in the Aigles Bleus and Panthers men’s soccer game. A first-year player, he was solid in defence and demonstrated very useful skills during the game. He adapted well to the Atlantic University Sport play and was a key player in his team’s 1-0 loss. He is an engineering (mechanical) student.
