Women’s Soccer: Adèle Melançon-Caillé Joins Aigles Bleues

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues women’s soccer team coach, Mehyar Zekaroui, is pleased to announce that Adèle Melançon-Caillé has signed her letter of intent to join his team for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport season, this September.

A 17-year-old student/athlete, Adèle Melançon-Caillé stands at 5′6″. A keeper, she hails from Sainte-Marie Salomé, Québec, and plays with Union-sud de Lanaudière (U17AAA) this summer. She has been playing for 13 years and will pursue a bachelor’s degree in physical education-education (major in physical education).

“I decided to join the Aigles Bleues to attend a French Acadian university outside Québec, something that permits me to connect with my ancestors,” said Melançon-Caillé. “I am capable of controlling the ball, I have a good vision and I communicate well during games. I hope to better my speed on my feet and my aerial jumps.”

“Adèle is a very calm keeper,” said head coach Zekaroui. “She communicates well with her defensive players and the rest of the team. She possesses particularly good technical abilities, both with her hands and feet and especially when getting her team on the attack with a long or short ball. She also plays intelligently and is capable of predicting defensive plays.”
