The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will have a new recruit to count on for the 2021-2022 Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball season. Emilie-Anne Chiasson has signed her U SPORTS letter of intent to play for the Bleu et Or.

Setter Emilie-Anne Chiasson, a native of Tracadie, stands 5 feet 7 inches and currently plays for the Dynamites U18. She plans to study Administration.

“As a coach, you’re always looking for athletes who have the necessary physical skills, a passion for volleyball, excellent work methods and a determination to improve,” explained Monette Boudreau-Carroll, head coach for the women’s volleyball team. “It’s really motivating, because I feel that Émilie-Anne ticks all the boxes. Having her with us will definitely solidify our lineup.”

“I’m so happy and proud to have an opportunity to pursue my career in volleyball with the Aigles Bleues,” Emilie-Anne Chiasson said. “Playing at the university level has always been among my goals, and being able to do it here in New Brunswick, while studying in French, is even better. I’ve played with and against several members of the team and I can hardly wait to start working with the coaches. Even as a newbie, I’m sure that I’ll be able to contribute in my own way from my very first year. My work ethic, vision of the game and energy are my greatest strengths as a setter and an athlete. I’m impatient for training camp to start in the spring.”
