Women’s Soccer: Manon Vautour Joining the Aigles Bleues

A recruit will be joining the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues for the 2021-2022 Atlantic University Sport women’s soccer season. Forward Manon Vautour has signed her U SPORTS letter of intent to play for the Bleu et Or.

Manon Vautour, originally from Saint-Louis-de-Kent, is currently playing with Soccer Dieppe. She intends to study Physical Education next year on the Moncton campus.

“We’re happy to welcome Manon into the Aigles Bleues family starting next season,” said Mehyar Zekaroui, coach of the women’s soccer team. “Manon plays centre forward and she is exceptionally fast. She can find the spaces behind the opposing defence and create real scoring chances, and this quality matches our playing style. We’ve known Manon since she was 13. She’s a true athlete who has been able to play a number of sports as a juvenile because of her excellent physical qualities. She also has a great work ethic. Her immediate family has played an important role in her education and her learning off the field. We’re proud to be able to count on Manon starting next season and we’re eager to see her score her first goal with the Bleu et Or.”

“I’m very grateful to be joining the Aigles Bleues at the Université de Moncton,” said Manon Vautour. “I’m going to work very hard and commit to representing my team well. I was quite young when I discovered that I had a passion for soccer. I played with the Soccer Dieppe AAA team for five years, and I’ve also had a chance to play with Soccer NB. This helped my development in the sport. Right now I’m continuing to improve with Soccer Dieppe. From the very beginning, my family, my friends and my coaches have given me their support. Without that, I would never have become the athlete that I am today. I am honoured to join the Aigles Bleues family.”
