A new recruit will be joining the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues for the 2021-2022 Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey season. Emily Gravelle, who plays defence, has signed her U SPORTS letter of intent to play for the Bleu et Or.

Emily Gravelle is originally from Callender, Ontario, and stands 5 ft. 5 in. She is currently playing with the Barrie Jr. Sharks in the Provincial Women’s Hockey League.

“Emily is a reliable player on defence and can play in any situation,” said Marc-André Côté, head coach of the Université de Moncton women’s hockey team. “She’s quick and plays well within a structure. She’s a good puck handler. We’re all delighted that Emily will be joining us. She’ll fit right into the Aigles Bleues family.”

“I can hardly wait to join the Aigles family at the Université de Moncton next year,” said Emily Gravelle. “I’ve always hoped to play university-level hockey, and I’m very proud to have a chance to continue my education in French as well as to pursue my passion for hockey. I’ve been playing since I was five. Hockey has allowed me to travel internationally and make friends around the world. I love the game and what it represents. I hope to bring my intensity, perseverance and sense of humour to the team. Over the past two years my family, friends and coaches have supported me in being able to live away from home and chase my dream with positive results and relationships. I feel ready now, and I’m excited to begin a new adventure in New Brunswick. Above all, I am eager to belong to a welcoming family like the Aigles Bleues!”
