AI Deep Learning Solution to Detect COVID-19
The Université de Moncton’s Perception, Robotics and Intelligent Machines research group (PRIME), led by Professor Moulay Akhloufi, and Institut du Savoir Montfort are partnering in the use of PRIME’s AI deep learning solution to detect COVID-19 using Chest X-rays and to highlight the location of the COVID-19 signs to help healthcare practitioners confirm the disease. The first tests with new images are very promising. This collaboration will help improve the developed solution in real-life situations.
“We are currently improving the algorithm with more data,” said Professor Akhloufi. “Also, we have developed our first deep model to detect COVID-19 using Point-of-Care Ultrasounds. Another solution is also available for CT scan images,” he added.
The Chest X-ray model is available free to use online.
