Men’s Hockey: Mika Cyr Commits to the Aigles Bleus

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus head coach, Judes Vallée, is announcing that forward and centreman Mika Cyr, of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, has signed his U SPORTS letter of intention to dress with his men’s hockey team for the next Atlantic University Sport season.

Mika Cyr, 20 years old, measures 5″ 9′ and weighs 172 lb. He has played four seasons with the Moncton Wildcats, from 2016–2017 to 2019–2020. An experienced player and leader with that team, he played 64 games this season with 37 goals, 21 assists for 58 points. He stands as +20, six penalty minutes, 13 power-play goals, one shorthanded with 178 shots on goal. He has dressed for 212 regular season Quebec Major Junior Hockey League games and has 96 goals and 90 assists for 186 points. He has taken 556 shots on goal with 28 power-play goals and 16 game-winning goals. He has appeared in 11 playoff games with five goals and six assists for 11 points. Cyr has participated in two National Hockey League team rookie camps, the Arizona Coyotes in 2018 and the Philadelphia Flyers last fall. He was drafted by the Wildcats in the second round (29th overall) in 2015.

“I am very pleased to be able to count on Mika Cyr’s leadership and experience for the next seasons,” said Judes Vallée. “He will be an important and key player with the Aigles Bleus for the coming years.”

He is enrolled at the Moncton campus in physical education.
