Two rookies commit to volleyball Aigles Bleues
Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll is happy that two athletes, Jaël Richard, of Memramcook and Julie-Pier Gauvin, of Tracadie, have signed their U SPORTS letter of intention to play with her team in the next Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball season.
Standing at 5’3’’, Jaël Richard plays libero. She is presently a member of Fuzion U19 high performance team in the southeast area. She has played in a very competitive environment for many years, an experience that will be valuable in her university career. She will study in biochemistry.
A member of her region’s club Dynamite, Julie-Pier Gauvin has been playing this sport for the last seven years. She is a member of her high school W.-A.-Losier team and several Atlantic teams. The 17-year-old will pursue studies in nursing. She measures 5’8” and hits right.
Both players have indicated the sport is their passion. They wish to continue playing following their high school years.
“I look forward to having them on the team next season,” stated Monette Boudreau-Carroll. “They both possess valuable experience for the future of the Aigles Bleues. It will be interesting seeing them at training camp next September.”
