In men’s hockey, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-1) will host the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (1-0) this Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. It is the second game of the Subway Atlantic University Sport consolation best of 3 series.

The winning team will attend the U SPORTS men’s hockey championship tournament in Halifax next week. Following their 4-2 win on Monday in Halifax, the Huskies have a 1-0 lead.

“We need to give it our all; we have our backs to the wall,” Moncton coach Judes Vallée indicated. “We were not happy with the Monday loss, but the troop’s moral is very good. The players will work hard in this home game. It will be nice to live in the energy and the help of this seventh player. We must play disciplined and keep our play simple. We cannot repeat costly errors of Monday. I will be missing three defencemen, but we will battle until the end.”

“We must play as if it will be our last game,” added Robbie Graham. “This is my last season and we will do our best to win. Defensively, we can stop their top line and offensively, we will shoot pucks in their net.”

Top scorer Maxime St-Cyr believes in his team’s chances of winning on Wednesday. “This is a huge game for us,” St-Cyr said. “We must do things right. If we play well and practise the small details defensively and score a few goals, we can win. This is our second chance; we need to seize it and be ready on Wednesday.”

Michael Kemp, Vincent Lanoue, Justin Guénette and Samuel Guilbault will miss the game.
