Women’s Volleyball: Aigles Bleues Play Two Weekend Games
In Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (4-13=8 points, 5th position) play two games this weekend.
Moncton visits the Acadia University Axewomen (10-6=20 points, 3rd position) on Friday and the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (11-6=22 points, 2nd position) on Saturday, in two of the last three regular-season games left to play in 2019-2020.
Rookie Cassidy Martin is glad to continue her progress, knowing her team is eliminated from the playoffs. “We wish to finish our season on a good note,” she said. “I enjoy playing in front of our home crowd, but on the road is fine. This is my first season with the Aigles Bleues and I am enjoying it. We are a very different team today as compared to September; our progression has been incredible. I have learned a lot from this program, it is not always easy as a passer, but it is a challenge that I enjoy. I love the way my progression has gone from practice to practice. This level is much different from the one I was playing, but I am happy to play at this level now.”
Coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll is still looking for wins this weekend. “The only thing is we need to finish our games,” she said. “We proved last weekend we can play with any team, except the small piece of being able to finish the game for a win. If we play as we did against Dalhousie, we should at least get a win.”
Moncton will end its regular season play next weekend.
