Women’s Hockey: Aigles Bleues visit Mounties
In Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-17-1=11 points, 7th position) travel to Sackville to meet the Mount Allison University Mounties (3-17-2=8 points, 8th position) at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center this Saturday at 7 p.m.
Mount Allison, Moncton and Dalhousie (13 points) are all still in the race for the 6th and final playoff berth. Moncton has five games remaining and the other two have six.
“There is no doubt as to the importance of this game,” Moncton coach Marc-André Côté said. “We need a win to keep our hopes alive for the playoffs. We played a game with very little intensity on Wednesday and we need to bounce back for this one as we have done in the past. They are a lower-ranked team, and our margin is getting thinner.”
Moncton has scored 28 goals and offered up 65 to their adversaries compared to 20 and 73 for the Mounties.
