Women’s Soccer: Alexane Dupuis to Join Aigles Bleues
The Université de Moncton women’s soccer coach, Mehyar Zekaroui, announces that Dieppe’s Alexane Dupuis will join his team for the 2020-2021 Atlantic University Sport season.
The Club de Soccer Dieppe member is a very competitive middle field player who has excelled in many sports.
“She has a very complete profile as a middle player with a good mix of technical, physical and mental abilities,” stated Mehyar Zekaroui. “Alexane can control play in a number of zones and bring the ball to the strikers in scoring range. She works hard on and off the field. We seek players with her work ethics ad we wanted her on our team.”’
The 17-year-old Grade 12 Mathieu-Martin student played with Dieppe’s AAA U17 team this season. She has also played for U16 and U18 Team New Brunswick. She was a member of Team NB at the Canada Games and a member of Team NB U18. She also played a game with Atlantic Attack of the National Ringette League. Dupuis and her team did win a silver medal in a tournament in Boston. She also plays ringette and badminton.
“I have been admiring the Aigles Bleues for a long time,” Dupuis said. “Mehyar has been inspiring me as a coach for many years and it is an honour to play for him. Soccer is my passion. I have made many friends through the sport. I learned discipline, determination and I have changed as a person.”
