Gabriel Cormier Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
Gabriel Cormier has been appointed dean of the Faculty of Engineering of Université de Moncton for a regular five-year mandate effective immediately.
Professor Cormier holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree and a Master of Applied Sciences degree from Université de Moncton, as well as a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University.
Mr. Cormier has been working at Université de Moncton since 2003. Associate professor since 2013, he was head of the Department of Electrical Engineering in 2014-2015, assistant dean of the Faculty from 2015 to 2019 and has held the position of interim dean since July 2019.
Among his academic activities, he is member of the Academic Senate; member of the Experiential Learning Advisory Committee; in charge of student files and intellectual property and research for the Cybersecurity Working Group; member of the Development Committee of the Faculty of Engineering; and member of the Engineering Programs Continuous Improvement Committee.
Mr. Cormier is also very active with Engineers and Geoscientists New Brunswick. He is currently a member of a diversity and inclusion committee, he mentors for the junior engineer mentorship program and sits on the Board of Examiners.
