Women’s Hockey: two weekend games in Nova Scotia
In Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-10-1=7 points, 6th position) play two games this weekend in Nova Scotia.
The Marc-André Côté coached club, which has played half the season, will be in Antigonish on Friday for an encounter against the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (9-4-1=19 points, 3rd position). Saturday, the team will be in Halifax to meet the Dalhousie University Tigers (3-12-0=6 points, 6th position).
“We need to build on last Saturday’s win,” coach Marc-André Côté said. “The win was welcomed by everybody. Standing points are what we need now. We examined our opponents play this week and we know we can come out on top of both teams. Those four points are possible for us. We have our destiny in our own hands. We will focus on our offensive. We have played 14 games, so half of the season. The expected results are not there, but we are not in a poor position. We have the potential for eight more points before the break.”
Moncton ended a sept game losing streak last Saturday.
