The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (2-6-0=4 points, 7th position) play twice this weekend in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

The team travels to Fredericton to face the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Reds (5-3-0=10 points, 3rd position) on Friday at 7 p.m. Saturday, the St. Thomas University Tommies (4-4-0=8 points, 5th position) visit the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena at 7 p.m.

Both games are four-point games, the Reds and Tommies being better ranked than the Aigles Bleues. “We aim to build from our play last weekend, even if the results are not those we anticipated,” stated coach Marc-André Côté. “We again emphasized scoring goals during practices. We are going to put traffic in front of the opposing net. We played better last weekend, and the score could have been in our favour. We did see a team effort on the ice. We have the will to do better and not remain in the rink’s peripheral area. We must get out of our comfort zone.”

“We will score goals this weekend,” stated defencemen Cassandra Call. “We are going to send players and a lot of pucks towards the net. We will also keep our shifts short and intense. We did work our play around the opposite net this week at practices to score goals. We will get it done.”

Moncton has only scored six goals in eight games and allowed 20. UNB is 17 and 13, and the Tommies are 12 and 12.
