Candidate Being Considered for the Position of President and Vice-Chancellor Moves on to the Public Consultation

Following a thorough review of the candidacy received for the position of President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton, two candidates were selected to move on to the public consultation.

One of the successful candidates informed the Selection Advisory Committee today that he was withdrawing his candidacy for personal reasons.

The successful candidate for the public consultation is Dr. Denis Prud’homme.

The Executive Selection Policy makes provision for public consultations with the university community during the executive selection process. These consultations take place on the Shippagan campus, Edmundston campus and Moncton campus between November 4th and 6th.

This consultation process involves a public presentation made by the candidate, followed by a question period (from the university community only).

“I am happy with the work carried out by the Selection Advisory Committee,” stated Ms. Edith Doucet, Committee Chair. “A national recruitment campaign with the help of an executive headhunting firm was launched over the summer and fall to attract high-level candidates, based on the desire of Université de Moncton to provide for its strong leadership.”

The selection process involves several steps that are outlined in the Executive Selection Policy.
