Hockey Aigles Bleus Play Two Home Games
Friday and Saturday, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (1-3-1=3 points, 7th position) host two teams with very different records in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey games at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.The Aigles Bleus will host the Dalhousie University Tigers (1-4-1=3 points, 6th position) on Friday and the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (3-0-1=7 points, 2nd position) on Saturday. Both games will be held at 7 p.m.
“We have two challenging games Friday and Saturday; we need to assemble for these all the good moves we did in previous games,” Moncton coach Judes Vallée said. “We know our weak points, and we have to bring together all of our scoring plays for a win. The players are working hard, but they become frustrated by our lack of scoring, and they try too hard individually to score. Both opposing teams have big and fast players and they work hard. We need to play with intensity and confidence. I hope we may build our confidence during the Friday evening game in time for our Saturday encounter.”
“Our team must have a good offensive drive beginning in our defensive zone,” attacker Alexis Roy said. “We cannot offer favours. We must work harder than the other two teams. Each player has a role to play on the ice. Scoring goals must be our goal. We must get to the net quickly, place traffic and shoot without waiting for the perfect opportunity. Our players must also shoot the puck behind the defenceman and race for it.”
