Hockey Aigles Bleues to Host Panthers Thursday

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-3-0=2 points, 6th position) will host the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (3-1-0=6 points, 3rd position) in an Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game this Thursday, at 7 p.m., at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Moncton has one win compared to three for the visitors. The Panthers have scored 13 times in four games and allowed only four goals. Moncton is 4 and 11.

“We need to find ways of scoring goals,” Moncton coach Marc-André Côté indicated. “The team has to come back from its early losses. The players must go to the net and play with more aggressiveness. We did bring up the level of intensity in practice this week and concentrated on shooting on goal.”

Defencemen Jennifer Arsenault thinks her team is closing in on a victory following three consecutive losses. “We had very good practices this week, and we are focused on the play patterns we have learned,” Arsenault said. “We need to apply them properly on the ice. We are not used to playing on a Thursday evening, but that will not change much for us as we get ready for the game. Defensively, we will work harder in our zone and get the puck out of it quickly, as per practised.”

Audrey Berthiaume will be in nets for the game.

The game will be on AUStv.ca.
