Hockey Aigles Bleus visit X-Men

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (1-0-1 = 3 pts, 2nd position) play one game this weekend on the road as they head to Antigonish, Nova Scotia and play the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (2-0-0 = 4 pts, 1st position) in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey action on Saturday evening.

The game should be exciting between the top two teams of the league. The X-Men have an offensive advantage with 16 goals scored in two games compared to seven for the Blue and Gold.

“The X-Men have a good team with a number of heavier players,” Moncton coach Judes Vallée indicated. “We played an exhibition game there and we know what to expect. We are aware the caliber of play has increased since that game. We need to play better constantly and with discipline. It is always a challenge to play in their rink. They scored 16 goals in two games, so our emphasis is on our special units to win. We also need to get more experience in our system of play.”   

Because of injuries, forward Gabriel Vanier and goaltender Alexis Thibaudeau will not be in the line-up. Étienne Montpetit will be in goal.
