Canada Wins Silver Medal

for the gold medal in women’s hockey at the Universiades, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Katryne Villeneuve and Cassandra Labrie, two members of the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues and members of Team Canada, won a silver medal.

“The tournament was incredible and it is an experience I will never forget,” said Katryne Villeneuve following the championship game. “Wearing a Team Canada jersey and playing for your country has no equal. The calibre of play was high. As an example, only four members of the Russian Federation team did not have Olympic experience. This was the best experience I have lived and I will cherish these memories forever.”
