Aigles Bleues Looking to Confirm a Playoff Spot

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (9-8-1=19 points, 6th position) play two home games on Friday and Saturday in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey action.

The Dalhousie University Tigers (5-12-2=12 points, 7th position) will be the visitors on Friday and the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (9-7-1=19 points, 4th position) on Saturday. Both games will take place at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. All three teams have similar results and wish to confirm their participation in the playoffs. The top six teams will advance. Moncton won its last three games and beat Dalhousie 5-2 last Friday.

“We will use the same recipe as last week with our three wins,” said Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “The focus is on our team and the things we are doing well on the ice. Our pre-game preparations are important, and we address the needs of our team at first. The players are aware of their potential. We must maximize our plays. We usually play well in our nest and are convinced the wins will follow.” Moncton is 6-3 at home and 3-6 on the road.

Audrey Berthiaume will be the goaltender on Friday. Katryne Villeneuve leads all AUS scorers with 23 points (13-10) and is 2nd in goals -13. Kathrine Dubuc is 8th with 14 points (4-10). Chantal Beauchamp is 5th amongst the defencemen with seven points (2-5). Audrey Berthiaume is 5th in save percentage for goaltenders with .926.
