Hockey games between the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-5-1=11 points, 5th position) and the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (6-3-1=13 points, 3rd position) are always promising and offer intense and rough games.

These two teams will tangle for the third time this season on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Halifax Forum in an Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game. The Huskies have won both previous encounters 4-0 and 4-1. Moncton and Saint Mary’s each won their last outing.

“We are not seeking revenge, but we wish to continue on the same road and play like we did in our last game,” said Moncton coach, Marc-André Côté. “We are playing much better in our process and we should continue on Thursday. Our system of play is progressing every day, and it should continue into the Thursday game. Intensity and taking advantage of our chances will be important because we lacked both sectors in our last game in Halifax.”

Winger Gabrielle Saulnier adds the team must play disciplined against the Huskies. “This team has a very good power play and we have to keep away from the penalty box,” Saulnier said. “We need to focus on our speed, shoot and go for the net to score. We had very good practices this week to get ready for the game.”

All players should be ready to play. Audrey Berthiaume, who registered three shutouts up to date, will be in front of the net. Moncton will play two of the top teams in four days, travelling to Fredericton on Sunday to meet St. Thomas University Tommies.
