The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (5-4-2=10 points, 4th position) lost their last game and the team is looking to get back on the winning track as they host the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (7-2-1=15 points, 3rd position) on Wednesday in an Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey game at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Moncton is looking to reduce the gap between them and the third spot with a win against a very strong offensive machine. The Huskies have scored 39 goals and allowed 22 in 10 games compared to 39 and 37 for the Aigles Bleus in 11 games.

“We will be looking for a tight defensive play in our zone,” said rookie defencemen, Olivier Desjardins. “We will concentrate on short passes and all players will be involved. The Huskies have a good offence, and we need to limit their scoring chances. We need to play a better first period and to be ready mentally and physically.”

“We need to play right from the first whistle because the Huskies have four very good lines and they play with power,” Vallée said. “Playing 60 minutes is a must for us in front of the talented and ethical working team. Working hard in all zones is a necessity as well as sending the puck to the opposing net. We played well enough in our last game, but we did nothing to win. We need to be hungry for a win.”

This will be the first game this season between the two teams. The Huskies won 5-4 in an exhibition game. Danick Emond is the only player from Moncton not available to play.

The game can be seen on AUStv.ca.
