Carol-Ann MacDonald Looking to Finish Top 3

Université de Moncton athletes will head to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, for the St. Francis Xavier University cross-country races, the second of the season leading to the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) championships.

The women and men’s teams, under Jean-Marc Doiron, did well last weekend and are adjusting for the AUS championships, in Halifax, on October 27.

“We will practise the strategies and lessons learned in our first race,” said Jean-Marc Doiron. “The most common error made by our athletes last week was too fast first few kilometres. I expect another very good performance by Carol-Ann, who finished third in Charlottetown. Nassim could finish top 20 and Sophie, top 25.”

The Aigles Bleus women’s team in the 6 km race will have Carol-Ann MacDonald, Myriam Cyr, Myriam Cormier, Sophie Black, December Sampson, Pascale Richard and Laurence Guitard. The 8 km men’s race will be composed of David Basque, Nassim Bousmaha, Simon Delorme, Alexandre Leclair, Christian Haché, Vincent Leclair, Jean-Raphael Vinay and Jeremy Rolle. Jean-Marc Doiron will also race in the open category.
