Constance Gilman and Jean-Luc Bastarache are U de M athletes of the week

Track and field athletes Constance Gilman, of Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island, and Jean-Luc Bastarache, of Truro, Nova Scotia, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week from February 12 to 25, 2018 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department, Moncton campus.

Constance Gilman won a gold medal in shot put and silver in hammer throw at the Atlantic University Sport track and field championships held last weekend in Moncton. She established two personal records and collected 12 of 57 points for her team. She is ranked 15^th by U SPORTS in shot put. She is a bachelor of kinesiology student.

Jean-Luc Bastarache offered a solid performance by winning two silver medals, finishing a close second in heptathlon events and in pole vault. He realized three personal records, one Université de Moncton record and an AUS pole vault record in heptathlon. He accumulated 13 of his team’s 37 points in the final standings. He is ranked 9^th by U SPORTS in heptathlon. He is a bachelor of civil engineering student.
