Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (9-10-3=21 points, 5th position) will complete their 24-game regular schedule with two weekend meets in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

Moncton will host St. Thomas University Tommies (11-7-4=26 points, 3rd position), Friday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, and will end the regular season with a game in Halifax, on Saturday, against Saint Mary’s University Huskies (19-3-1=39 points, 2nd position).

The weekend results will determine the final standings and the pairings for the quart final series between the third and sixth position teams.

“For these two games, I expect the players to go all out,” Moncton coach Denis Ross said. “The Tommies and the Huskies have won more games against us this season and our aim is to win both these games. We will offer our spectators the best possible performance. We have played very tight games on the road.”

“Our objective this weekend is to continue gaining confidence and momentum going into the playoffs next week,” team captain Cassandra Labrie stated. “Our practices and games the last few weeks have been excellent. We are looking for a boost towards the playoffs. We are not looking back, we will work harder than our opponents and focus on applying our game strategies. We are also going to score goals.”

Gabriel Forget will get the nod between the pipes. A ceremony honouring fourth and fifth year players with the Aigles Bleues will be held prior to the start of the Friday evening game. Being recognized are Katryne Villeneuve, Cassandra Labrie, Marie-Pier Corriveau, Brittany Poitras, and Gabrielle Forget.
