Women’s Volleyball: Aigles Bleues Visit Varsity Reds
Wednesday evening the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-12=6 points, 5th position) will play against the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds (0-16=0pts, 6th position) in an Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball game, at the Currie Centre, in Fredericton.Both teams are eliminated from the playoffs as the Varsity Reds have not won a game this season in 16 starts. Moncton did win 3-2 and 3-1 in the first outings this season between the two rivals. Moncton has lost its last six games.
“We are building this team until the end,” said Moncton coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll. “It is never easy to play at UNB. The players are encouraged by our weekend play. We need to pursue this road, and to progress as a team. Our aim is to complete the season on a positive note.” Moncton has five games left in the regular-season play.
Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s, Acadia and Memorial are the four teams qualified for the AUS Championship, at Memorial at the beginning of March.
