Rachelle Haché and Alain Doucet are U de M athletes of the week

Track and Field athletes Rachelle Haché, of Miramichi, and Alain Doucet, of Dieppe, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week from January 8 to 14, 2018 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department, Moncton campus.

Rookie Rachelle Haché won two events at the annual Moncton Open Track and Field Meet, on Sunday at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud. She was first in shot put and hammer throw, junior division. Her performances would have given her 2^nd spot in shot put, and 3^rd in hammer, in the open category. They are also two personal records. She is ranked 2^nd in the AUS in each of these events, and 13^th in shot put and 20^th in hammer by USPORTS. She is a bachelor in biochemistry student.

Alain Doucet established a meet record in pole vault and equalled his and New Brunswick’s records with his 4m20 jump. He was 2^nd in the high jump, 9^th in shot put and 10^th in the 60 m. He is ranked first in AUS and 13^th in Canada by USPORTS in pole vault. He is a bachelor of engineering student-electrical.
