Gabrielle Forget and Alexi Thibaudeau are U de M athletes of the week

Goaltenders Gabrielle Forget, of Joliette, and Alexi Thibaudeau, of Gatineau, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period from October 30 to November 5, 2017 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department, Moncton campus.

Gabrielle Forget saw 33 shots on goal in the Aigles Bleues 2-1 win over St. Francis Xavier University X-Women, in women’s hockey action on Friday evening, including 17 shots in the middle period. She played well and kept her team in the game, even at the end of the third period when the visitors had a 6 on 4 advantage. She is a kinesiology student.

Alexi Thibaudeau was a popular target during the two games he played for the Aigles Bleus men’s hockey team. He faced a barrage of 59 shots on Friday evening in his team’s loss, including 23 in the first and 22 in the second periods. On Wednesday, he handled 38 pucks, including 16 in the third period, in his team’s 6-4 win. He is a bachelor of administration-accounting student.
