Catherine Dupuis and Alexandre Thériault are U de M athletes of the week

Soccer players Catherine Dupuis, of St-Mathias, and Alexandre Thériault, of Dieppe, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period from September 25 to October 1, 2017, by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.

Striker Catherine Dupuis scored two goals and added an assist in her team’s 4-0 win over the Mount Allison University Mounties, in women’s soccer action on Sunday. She took 11 shots, including 5 on goal during the game. Her offensive determination greatly contributed to the efforts of the Bleu et Or team. She scored her team’s second and last goals, in the second half. She was named Subway player of the game. She is a bachelor student in Recreation, Sport and Tourism administration.

Defender and team captain Alexandre Thériault was a constant player during the game in his team’s 8-0 win over the Mounties. He was at the origin of many offensive attacks during the game. He worked hard to keep the ball from getting to his keeper and the opponents only managed one shot. He is a bachelor student of social sciences-criminology.
