Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus men’s hockey head coach, Judes Vallée, will have Ricky Jacob and Frédérick Roy as assistant coaches for the next Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey season.

Both are former Aigles Bleus players. This will be Jacob’s second season with the team and Roy will begin his first behind the bench.

"These are two local coaches involved in their community," Judes Vallée said. "Ricky Jacob has a solid background and knows the players. He is dynamic and we connected quickly. Frederick Roy will work with the defensemen. He has experience as a player and as a coach. He had success with this team and is really motivated. This is great for the Aigles Bleus program and I am excited for the coming season."

It was important for Ricky Jacob to be back with the team. "Being a former player, my heart is with the Aigles," he said. "I want to contribute to the program and I am very happy to be back. I expect another great season. We will have a hard-working team and one that will be hard to play against. We lost a number of key players, but the ones arriving and the ones returning will take their place with added responsibilities."

Frédérick Roy was co-head coach with the Dieppe Commandos last season. "This will be a nice challenge for me," Roy said. "I enjoy the nice wind of change in the team. My father and myself have both played for the Aigles Bleus in the past. I will work with the defensemen and the team in general. I like the direction Judes Vallée wants to bring the team and I wish to do my part. It will also be a learning experience for me."
