Natalie Carrier appointed dean of health sciences and community services faculty

Natalie Carrier has been named dean of the Université de Moncton’s health sciences and community services faculty. Her appointment was ratified by the university’s Board of Governors at its meeting held on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

Professor Carrier holds a Ph.D. in nutrition from Université Laval and has been with the Université de Moncton since 1997. She is an associate professor in the school of food science, nutrition and family studies, which she led from 2011 to 2016.

She is licensed professional dietician and takes part in various interdisciplinary health-related research projects. Her research grants have led to nearly 20 peer-reviewed articles. Professor Carrier’s dedication to the community is rich and varied, whether through the Université de Moncton or with outside organizations. She has also been involved in the development of articulated baccalaureate programs with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick, the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals and the proposed health complex for the health sciences and community services faculty.

Professor Carrier’s appointment takes effect on July 1, 2017, for a regular term of five years.
