Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach, Monette Boudreau-Carroll, is proud to indicate that Danielle Charette, of Beaverbrook-Sackville, Nova Scotia, will be on her roster for the 2017-2018 Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball season.

A Le Sommet high school student in Halifax, Charrette, 17, wanted to pursue her university studies in French and continue her passion of playing university caliber volleyball.

"I did attend a number of games of the Aigles Bleues when they were playing in Halifax and I appreciated their defensive style of play" said Charette, 5’8". I have been playing for seven years and I am fascinated by the game. I wish to continue learning the game and meet new challenges."

Charrette has played left-side and libero in her young career. Her position with the Aigles Bleues has not been decided yet but she has no fear of challenges.

"Because of some injuries, I was told by a coach I would never be able to play at the university level," Charrette added. "I wanted to prove him wrong and I have succeeded. I did have to push my limits to get here. I will enroll in kinesiology. I wish to gain experience and better my defensive speed. I am a determined athlete and aggressive at the net. I am not the tallest person on the court, but I can bloc when needed. I will train hard this summer to be ready for September."

Coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll indicates her rookie has lots of potential for the future. "She was recommended and I did see her play," Boudreau-Carroll said. "She may not be on a starting line-up at the beginning, but I can appreciate her talent. I figure she will bring something interesting to our team. I look forward to having her on the court in September."
