Volleyball Aigles Bleues host Seahawks for three games

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will end their 2016-2017 regular season this weekend in Atlantic University Sport women volleyball action.

The Aigles Bleues (8-9=16pts, 4th position) host Memorial University Seahawks (12-5=24pts, 2nd position) for three games, on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. in the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium.

Moncton and Memorial are both guaranteed a spot in the AUS volleyball championship tournament to be played in Halifax and hosted Saint Mary’s University Huskies, March 3-4.

Moncton was 3-1 winner over Memorial in the season launching tournament, in October in Halifax.

"We have not seen them since last October and one of their best players was missing," Moncton coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll said. ‘’We know we can play with them. They could be our opponents at the AUS championship. We need to find a way to win and adapt to their play. The technical aspect of the game is now done. It wil be hard for both teams to play three straight games. With our defensive play front and center, they will have a hard time to score."
