Hockey Aigles Bleus to play in Wolfville on Saturday

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (10-16-1=21pts, 6th position) are looking for two important standings points as the travel to Wolfville on Saturday in an Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey game against the Acadia University Axemen (17-8-2=36pts, 2nd position).

The Aigles Bleus, Dalhousie University Tigers and University of Prince Edward Island Panthers are trying to lock in the last two playoff positions, with three games left in regular schedule. The Aigles Bleus lost their two last outings while the Axemen won their last two. Acadia scored 97 times in 27 games and allowed 79 while the numbers are 82 and 124 for Moncton.

"Our goal is still to make the playoffs," coach Serge Bourgeois said. "We know a road victory will not be easy on the large ice surface in Wolfville. It is possible because we did play well there in our last outing."

Brandon Thibeau will be the goaltender. Jean-François Plante (27-12) and Allain Saulnier (5-34), of the Aigles Bleus, are now third in the scoring race with 39 points, two behind Hunter Garlent (15-26), of Saint Mary’s, and Philippe Maillet of the Varsity Reds (20-29=49pts) is first.
