Judith Desjardins and Alain Doucet are named athletes of the week

Volleyball player Judith Desjardins, of Fredericton, and track athlete Alain Doucet, of Dieppe, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period of January 23 to 29, 2017 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.

Judith Desjardins was chosen as Subway player of the game in her team’s 3-1 victory over the Axewomen in AUS volleyball. She registered one kill, 15 digs, 44 assists, 2 aces and one block, during the game. She is a bachelor of social work student.

Alain Doucet established two Université de Moncton records during the McGill Team Track and Field Challenge, on the weekend. He registered personal bests in all his 8 events, including the two records in heptathlon (4335 points) and pole vault (4 m). He equaled the provincial record in pole vault and heptathlon. He is an engineering (electric) student.
