Gabrielle Forget and Marc-Anthony Therrien are the athletes of the week

Hockey players Gabrielle Forget, of Joliette and Marc-Anthony Therrien, of Nicolet, Québec, were chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period of October 10 to 16 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.

Veteran goaltender Gabrielle Forget handled 75 shots (70 saves) in her teams two weekend women’s hockey games in the AUS opening schedule. Her performance enabled her team to stay focused in both games resulting in a win on Saturday and an overtime loss, Sunday, with 41 shots. She was chosen the Subway player of the game.

She is a 4th year kinesiology student.

The Subway player of the game, Marc-Anthony Therrien, scored twice to lead his team to a first win this season, 3-2 in overtime, Saturday, following a loss on Friday evening. His play on the ice sparked the others in following his example and helped the team regain confidence with a win.

He is a second year education-physical education student.
