A number of sport activities at annual U de M Homecoming 2016

A number of sport activities will take place at the annual Université de Moncton Homecoming 2016 of its Alumni Association, this weekend.

The majority of the Moncton campus teams will play at home this weekend and a number of special activities with alumni athletes are also planned.

Friday morning, the Université de Moncton will honor its 29 student athletes on the CIS all academic honor roll for 2015-2016. These students maintained an average of 3.7 or more. A men’s hockey game between the Aigles Bleus and the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds will also begin at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Saturday morning, there will be a game between alumni members of the women’s hockey Aigles Bleues at 9:45 a.m. at the arena. Former members of the volleyball Aigles Bleues will gather at the Ceps Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium, at 10 a.m. A game between former soccer players will take place at 11 a.m. at Stade Moncton Stadium. A BBQ with music will also be held at the Stade Moncton Stadium before the two soccer games, at 1 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. as the Aigles host the UPEI Panthers

A meeting of former Aigles Bleus hockey players will take place at 2:30 p.m. The Aigles Bleues women’s hockey will begin their 2016-2017 season on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at the arena against the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women.

Some of the former players from the women hockey teams in attendance are Melissa Moss, Julie LeBlanc, Martine LeBlanc, Mélanie LeBlanc (Bourque), Kristen Gaudet, Carole Gallant, Nadine Jaillet, Christine LeBlanc, Kathy Desjardins, Johannie Thibeault, Kristine Labrie, Marie-Hélène Plourde, Geneviève David, Janie LeBlanc, Susie Larocque, Francesca Hamel, Marie-Pier Arsenault, Amélie Dion and Natasha Bergeron. In women’s volleyball, former players expected are Huberte Jaillet, Sylvie Gagnon, Véronique Carroll, Noémie Michaud, Natasha LeBlanc, Crissy Roy, Joline Richard and Sigourney Stott.

Richard Lemay, Mathieu Léger, Patrick Gautreau, Éric Gaudet, Samuel Charron, Harouna Ouedraogo, Mehdi Hani, Eddie Rutanga, Alain Doucet, Michelle-Andrée Boudreau, Stéphanie Leahy and Anik Gautreau are some soccer players expected. In men’s hockey, Scott Toner, Gilbert Lefrançois, Marc Bernier, Jérémie Caissie and Serge LeBlanc should be in attendance.
