Men's Hockey: The Aigles Bleus against the Reds on Friday

The 18th game of the regular schedule and the last of the first semester will arrive Friday for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus as they head to Fredericton to face the University of New Brunswick Reds in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game.

The Blue and Gold (5-11-1-0=7pts,7th position) have lost their last two meetings and missed a chance to climb in the standings. For their part, the Reds (15-1-0-0=30pts, 1st position) dominate the national and AUS rankings. They have won their last 8 outings.

“We'll have to see which team shows up in Fredericton,” said coach Judes Vallée. “We had a good meeting on Thursday to discuss our performance. We still have 4-5 injured players, but we can't use it as an excuse. I hope the holiday season will benefit us. We need to play a big game with only 12 games left after Christmas. Despite all this, we are still in the fray.”

For the team's top scorer Nathaël Roy, “we need to find a way to bounce back. We had two games against teams we could beat, and we let them slip. UNB has the best team, and we will have to play our best hockey.”

The rookie has certainly led his team’s attack so far. “I work hard every day and I love it on the ice,” he added. “I was well received on the ice and in my classes. I love playing with Mika Cyr and Vincent Deslauriers, we have better chemistry. We do good things and there is always room for improvement. We want to give everything on Friday with a long rest afterwards.”

Roy is the AUS 6th scorer with 12 goals and 9 assists for 21 points in 17 games. He has 5 goals on the man advantage with 67 shots, 4th in this statistic.
