The end of the first semester regular schedule arrives this weekend for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-8-0-1=11pts, 6th position) in two Atlantic University Sport women's hockey games at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

The University of New Brunswick Reds (11-2-0-1=23pts, 2nd place) will be the visitors Friday at 7 p.m. and the Mount Allison University Mounties (1-14-0-0=2pts, 8th place) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

These will be the 15th and 16th of 28 games regular schedule for the Aigles Bleues. The team aims to solidify its grip on one of the top six positions in the standings to qualify for the end-of-season playoffs.

“We must build on last Saturday's game and find a way to climb in the standings,” said coach Marc-André Côté. “Even if they are two teams with very different records, the preparation remain the same for both. UNB has a good, balanced, and high-performing team. The Mounties have already beat the Huskies, so nothing will be easy.”

The idea of finishing strong in their nest will be an additional motivation for the Blue and Gold. “We've fine-tuned some aspects of our game and we want to finish strong,” added Côté. “It's interesting to be at home in our nest in front of our fans. These are two important games for us.”

In brief - All players will be available for the games. Goaltender Audrey Berthiaume will play her 61st game with the Aigles Bleues on Friday. Janie Poitras leads her team’s scorers with 10 goals and 3 assists for 13 points and tied for 7th in AUS. Rookie Erica Plourde (3-3) and Catherine Longchamp (0-6) follow with 6 points. Moncton has scored 25 goals and allowed 37 in 14 games.
