Abigail Pallister and Mika Cyr are the athletes of the week at UMoncton
Abigail Pallister of Moncton and Mika Cyr of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from November 15 to 21 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Center court player Abigail Pallister contributed well to her Aigles Bleues team's efforts during the three weekend volleyball games. She scored 11 kills on Sunday to help her team win its first game of the season with a .381 efficiency percentage. She was also a key player in the two other games lost by very tight scores. She is a third-year bachelor's in social sciences-criminology student.
Forward Mika Cyr had an excellent weekend with 6 points in two games by scoring his first university career hat trick and adding another goal in addition to two assists in the Aigles Bleus two men's hockey games. He scored three times, including once shorthanded, to help his team win two games in a row for the first time this season on Friday. He took 4 shots and won 3 of 3 face-offs and finished at +4. On Saturday, he scored and received an assist participating in both of his team's goals, finishing +1 and winning 4 of 9 face-offs with 3 shots. He is tied for16th rank in AUS scoring with 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points. He is a second-year education-physical education student.
