The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-8-1-0=7pts,7th position) need standing points as they play two home games this weekend in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action.

The Dalhousie University Tigers (6-5-1-0=13pts,3rd position) and the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (9-3-1-0=19pts, 2nd position) will be the opponents respectively Friday night at the UNIplex Centre in Dieppe and Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, both games at 7 p.m.

Moncton, which is playing its 13th and 14th games of the season out of 30, has just won its last outing and coach Judes Vallée took the opportunity during the week's training sessions to build on last Saturday’s achievements. The games will not be easy against much better ranked teams. Moncton has scored 24 goals and allowed 49 in 12 games. StFX figures are 51 and 43 and Dalhousie, 45 and 44.

“We crossed the word easy out of our vocabulary,” said Judes Vallée. “We are looking to win two games in a row for the first time this season. We had very good training this week and our special units are improving. There is an incredible parity in this league that is very solid. We can't wait to play in Dieppe in front of our fans and live the experience. It will be nice to go back to our nest on Saturday.”

Cap-Pelé rookie Maxime Boudreau scored his first two goals last weekend in his university career, including one on the power play. “I was surprised to play on the man advantage and at center,” said the student/athlete. “I am enjoying it and my adaptation is going well. The game is much faster, robust and all players are good. To repeat our last Saturday success, it will take a combined effort of all. We need to put more players in front of the net and shoot more often to score. We will have to win our battles. A good defense on the ice will give us the chance to have a good offense.”

Note that Friday night's game will be played exceptionally at the UNIplex Centre in Dieppe and Saturday's game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque arena. Season ticket holders will be able to use their card for admission to both games. Friday’s individual tickets will go on sale one hour before game time at the UNIplex Centre.

Fans are allowed at the games; but wearing a face mask is always mandatory unless a person drinks or eats actively. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a government-issued ID card are required prior to entering either rink.
