Université de Moncton Records Highest Enrollment Rates Since 2012

The Université de Moncton has seen a 5.0% increase in enrollment for the fall 2021 semester across its campuses. In fact, statistics show an increase of 224 full-time students compared to the fall 2020 semester.

The student population now stands at 4,745 students, the highest enrollment since 2012.

Enrollment from New Brunswick is 3,099, or 65.3% of the student body. Internationally, the institution is seeing a 37.8% increase over the fall 2020 semester, from 775 to 1,068.

“The excellent work of our recruitment, admissions, registrar, and faculty teams on all three campuses has contributed greatly to the success of our increased student enrolment. In addition, the reopening of Canadian embassies and the easing of borders have allowed a greater number of international students to travel to Canada to complete their studies,” said President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Denis Prud'homme. “This has been done in compliance with self-isolation requirements.”

The president also believes that the quality of the education and services offered to students, as well as the prudence shown by the province of New Brunswick, explains the confidence expressed by the families of international students in his institution. “New Brunswick has done well since the beginning of the pandemic when compared to other provinces. This is reassuring for parents who send their children to our campuses. They know that strict measures are in place to reduce the risks,” he said.

The Université de Moncton continues to align its decisions related to COVID-19 with the actions and recommendations of the provincial government.

“We want the 2021-2022 academic year to be as safe and serene as possible for all members of the university community. The pandemic is not over yet.  Caution is still required,” concluded Dr. Prud'homme.

Here are the tables (documents available in French only) of enrollment data for the three UdeM campuses as of Monday, September 20, 2021.
